Types of articles that Google loves for private blog network

Hi :) I am back as promised. Last time I didn’t tell you about types of posts that Google loves. This issue is very important in having a say about 70% in making successful private blog network without getting deindexed. Before starting, I want to tell the opposite side which is what kind of posts that Google doesn’t like. You definitely don’t do it. Otherwise what you have done will be a waste. It will gun down your web site’s ranking. Waste of time and money.

Post types you should avoid

  1. Scrape content – Those posts that scrape contents from other websites and insert keywords. This technique used to work very well in the past 3-4 years ago. It is simple and easy to do for people who can code scripts. The scripts will just extract news and contents then add a number of keywords and backlinks. Then they spin the post and make it look different and put it on different websites. These posts are usually crap and very low quality of content. And most importantly, the contents are not related to the keywords inserted. For example, the contents are about politics news, but the keywords are about selling clothes. This is weird, don’t you think. Now Google can detect this kind of posts even if they are posted in non-English language.
  2. Very short content – Someone writes their own posts but write it very short about 1 paragraph or less than 500 words. These short posts will not help for ranking, just waste of time.
  3. Too much exact keyword anchor in the post – Those posts that include links by using keyword anchor for every link. The links have the same pattern. Generally, if we use a script to automatically post articles, they will likely forget this point. They do not adjust so the posts look differently on link pattern. The post looks good, self-written, at least 500 words, but the link keywords have the same pattern, the same place on every post. Anything that has a pattern, It’s footprint and Google will detect and deindex your pbn.

Think about it carefully, you invest a lot of money on your expired domain, hosting, but you are stuck with lousy SEO. You are too lazy to write your own quality content (Or hire someone who good at it). You are killing yourself. You are wasting your money doing a private blog network.

Now you know what types of post are bad. I will explain what types of post are counted in quality content. If you remember my previous post How to make your pbn look likes real website, you should think further what we should do to make it look like real websites. I simply think this way. Normally, people who write blogs write about things they know best. They will put their own style or their personality into their posts. This is called ‘personas.’ Simply put, when we talk about particular blogs or personalities for example yoast.com, nice cartoon pictures with an author description in the post footer. You may complain at this point. What a waste of time to build ‘personas!’ I would have to tell you my simple way of building personas. I use various author plugins and that will make the author part in the footer of post nicely. It will show information on the authors of the posts. You only do it once. Write about the person, who he/she is, what his/her lifestyle, why writing this blog, for example. We can build personas for several authors in one blog.

You may search for author plugin in wordpress and try it out. For me, I use “simple author box”

After we build a personality of the author for our blog, we will write articles. I suggest that you write your own article. However, I know that it will be a big task for you to write lots of articles, you may hire some freelance writer to do it at low cost. I will talk about how to hire freelance writer later. Of course, the length of articles should be longer than 500 words. a 1000-word article is called long-formed.

Types of articles that Google loves

  1. Long-formed article – This type of articles is very popular. Long articles with good contents together with pictures or video clips are what we are looking for. This type of article takes lots of time to prepare but it especially fits for content marketing. We do not expect only results of SEO but when people read these articles, they get something back and will want to buy our product.
  2. How-to article – This type of article is very popular. Try Googling on how to write how-to articles. Search for several how-to articles and mix them using our own style of language. It is as easy as that.
  3. Ranking or collecting article – for example, top ten house plans, top seven buffets in town, 5 ways to ranking in Google.

How often do we post?

Someone expect Google bot to visit their website frequently by update content too much. In fact, posting articles too frequent may have a reverse effect if all articles doesn’t have a quality threshold. Google uses bot to crawl webpages and they make it very quick to do index of webpages nowadays. In my own opinion, I post only quality articles and I don’t care about the number of articles. I usually post one article for one targeted keyword.

What type of links is best?

I believe that I wrote about this topic before. Today, you should avoid setting private blog network using keywords as anchor text in every of your articles. It is a risk as Google has algorithm that can detect it. You will possibly get deindexed using lots of keywords as anchors. For me, I will mix among three types which are keyword, sentence and website name or URL of that web site.

Today’s article is a bit long because this is a long-formed article. Ha ha. Hope you will get something from it. If you have any question, please write a comment to me. Thank you very much.

How to make your pbn look likes real website

Today I talk to the famous SEO professionals who work with large SEO company. He said private blog network is still the key success for ranking. He use private blog network in improving ranking for his customers’ websites as it yields good and effective results. We discuss if we ever get de-indexed. I get a know-how update from this specialist in setting up private blog network. Many things he said confirm my internal research. I want to share what I know with everybody here today.

Nowadays, we must set up pbn as though it is a real website. What? Isn’t a blog network a real website? What is real website then? What I mean by real websites is not a crappy website. It is not a quick setup website. It is the web that you want to make it perfect. Each website should have real identity. So I will talk today how a real website should look like. What do we need to have? Let’s start! (Since I use wordpress for pbn, this article is based on wordpress. If you use other scripts, you may adapt the concept discussed here with them.)

  1. The name of the blog’s author should be different – when we setup WordPress, we can indicate the admin’s name. Here we should use different names for each blog.
  2. Use different themes on each website – today, it is super easy. There are thousands of WordPress theme for you to choose from and they are free!!!
  3. Apply for social network account for each blog – quality web page that is carefully setup always has facebook, twitter to encourage viewer’s engagement. If we are diligent enough (only one-time setup), we should apply one account for each blog. Now our blog network will look more professional. Or when you register for domain name, you should look for domain that already has facebook/twitter account. It will be much better as you will have those facebook/twitter accounts with followers.
  4. Add privacy/contact/term of use page – these pages will appear on every big website. When we setup our private blog network, we can set these up altogether. The techniques are mixing various names; don’t use the same name on every blog. For example, use ‘contact us’, ‘get in touch’, ‘contact’, or ‘send email’.
  5. Permalink setting – WordPress has a link system that is called ‘permalink’ that allows us to configure the link formats on our web page. Go to setting > permalink. Don’t set it using the same format on every blog.
  6. General information on website – it is very important that you setup general information of web page, slogan such that they make your web pages look really really beautiful. Make them as various as possible on each of your blogs. You may follow your web page name, for example we may use the blog title as ‘Fast mover get rich – the fastest way to get rich’ for domain name ‘fastmovergetrich.com’. Someone set up private blog network by hiring someone to design different logos for each blog. They put an investment on their blog network. If we are on low budget, we can easily design our own logos. Don’t have to be fancy logos just not the same logo in each blog.

In addition to the 6 techniques I share today, there are some other good techniques that I didn’t mention. But what you should remember is how good web sites look like. You should setup yours that way. Make it look real. You should make your web sites look real. There is another important issue that can be the most important one is the articles themselves. Next time, I will explain to you what type of articles that a good private blog network should have.

WordPress plugin recommendation for private blog network

Long time no see. Recently, I have been very busy with lots of projects. I will try to write article more often as I could. I promise. ^^

Today I will introduce some WordPress plugins that is recommended for private blog network. I will also explain how good they are. Let’s start!

  1. Mainwp – This plugin help overall managing of all of our wordpress blog. Whether it be version update, plugin setup, theme setup, change setting. Mainwp has main concept as allowing us to setup various plugins on each of our websites. Then we can login into central admin page of Mainwp and manage all of our wordpress web pages at one point.
  2. WordPress SEO – This plugin can be used in place of ‘all in one SEO’. It is a very popular plugin because it helps on generating meta title and description on our web sites automatically.
  3. Author sure – Have you ever seen Google search results that show author’s pictures as a small avatar? The pictures are taken from their profiles such as Google+. This plugin helps link our google+ account and show on the search results. The benefits are that it makes our websites looks like real website, not spamming websites. But we should always use different author’s name for different websites.
  4. XML sitemap & Google new feeds – This is a plugin that will generate sitemap file for us automatically. The sitemap file is like a map for google bot to come get information on our website easily. Allowing Google to index our web site more quickly.
  5. Table of Content plus – ever seen that some big web site with long contents like Wikipedia has contents on top. This plugin will help to create a table of contents for our posts which make our articles look good in the eyes of Google bot.
  6. Contact form 7 – This plugin helps build contact form. Why do we need a contact form? It is just a private blog network. Who is going to contact us? Don’t you think? But I want to let you know that in making private blog network, we need to do everything just like real websites. And real websites have contact form (even though no one will contact.) Just make our websites real ones.
  7. Akismet – This plugin originally comes with WordPress. It helps you manage spam comments perfectly.

I hope that this article is useful as I had many people asking about this topic. When I am more available, I will come and update more.

Should we use wordpress for all of our pbn?

Hello. It’s been a month since I started this blog. I have continued writing blogs about how to setup private blog networks. The blogs are about how to register for servers, domain name, find hosting. At this point, we come to how to setup websites. I have a lot of questions on this issue. What cms should I use for setting up website? Should I use wordpress for all of my websites? I will answer these questions today.

Why do 90% of private networks use WordPress?

  1. Because WordPress is easy to use and setup. It is a content management system that people around the world like to use. And it is FREE!!!
  2. There are many plugins and themes for you to choose from. Changing WordPress themes is a matter of a few clicks.
  3. There are a variety of automated script for managing wordpress via XMLRPC.

So it is not unusual that WordPress is most popular among websites. But the question is, ‘is it safe for our private blog network hosted with WordPress for all of our websites?” Let’s look at the following statistics from the worldwide usage of CMS shown in the graph below.

wordpress-market-share

WordPress usages are almost half of all websites worldwide.

Seeing this graph, I will have to say it is safe to use WordPress to setup all of your websites for the reason that most people use it. And it is not reasonable that Google will ban websites by using wordpress, don’t you think?

In fact, Google policy for banning websites is purely on the websites characteristic itself, not about CMS you are using. As long as Google detects that your website is a spam, whatever CMS you use, you will always get banned.

If I don’t use WordPress, what is your recommendation?

  1. You may use less popular CMSs such as Drupal or Joomla.
  2. You may write your own webs using Html. If you know Html syntax, I recommend it. It is the safest method as you will have different structures for each of your web pages.

Happy making private blog network ^^

Private blog network – The golden rule

Some of you may have experiences setting up private blog networks for improving ranks on Google. Some may just be confused with the steps, which in turn yielding unsatisfying results. So today, I will come and reveal important factors that are called golden rules for private blog networks. If you follow these rules, the risk of getting deindexed will be lowered or never.

The rules I mentioned is “the rules of no patterns”. Or simply said, whatever you do, try to make each of your websites of different patterns.

When you started doing your private blog networks, you may have heard that you must have domain with PR 3 or above. That is not wrong. But if you imagine that your network consists of 100 websites all of which have PR 3. In the Google eyes, “why are all backlinks to this websites have PR3?” This is very unlikely of course. There is no website that can specify all of their own PR values of backlink. Do you get the picture?

So the rule of non-pattern tells us that we should not make our web using the same pattern. We should register for domain with PR, no PR, some expired, some new. This gives your network a natural look.

It is the same for making websites, someone has systematically set up their websites using the same pattern. Using links on footer and blogroll all the time. Same categories; posting articles at the same time; using the same theme on their websites. If Google judges one of these websites as spamming websites, they will start looking for other websites that have similar pattern. If they found these websites, they will deindex all of them. Very cruel indeed!

If we now employ no-pattern rule – when Google found one low-quality websites, and try to search for other websites with the same/similar pattern. As we already make our websites with different patterns, so the risk of them finding all of our websites will be much decreased.

Now someone may have questions that “What about links in article? How do you make it follow the no-pattern rule?” As many people get to the point and set up their blog network by putting link using keyword anchor. I want you to simply follow my reasoning as follow. Normally, people will link to your website when they think your web is good and useful. They want to introduce good websites on their page. What do they do with the link? Keywords, sentences, or direct URLs? I believe that the direct URLs method is the most popular one. However, what I suggest to you is to mix all of these types of keyword anchor.

Keyword anchor is the name displayed for link, for example this is a keyword. We call “this is a keyword” the keyword anchor.

It is true that link using keyword may gain more points from Google. But today Google uses percentage of keyword anchor as ways for punishment too. It means if you use too many keywords as anchor text, you may get banned. What I want you to know is that Google used to rely on keyword anchor when analyzing backlinks. For example, if you start a website for marketing Samsung Galaxy note 4 and the links are from keyword ‘Samsung Galaxy note 4,’ there will be more points than links from other keywords. But for today Google’s algorithm gets smarter and they rely need less and less for anchor keyword. Google can look at the context of an article whether what anchor text is. All in all, even you put your links as direct URLs to point to your website, Google will know what your website is all about.

Keep it in your mind always, “make private network, no pattern.”

Hosting guide for private blog network

Hello. I have skipped posting for several days. I have been very busy lately with my unfinished project. But I miss you guys so I come and write a sequel to how to choose hosting for pbn. In the last post, I have explained that what types of hosting that you should avoid. Today, I will explain in more detail about the criteria for choosing hosting for private blog network. I will define corresponding tags for each topic into two types: (1) ‘IMPORTANT’ meaning there must be this property, and (2) ‘PREFER’ meaning it is better for hosting to have this property. Let’s start.

  1. Different name server for each IPIMPORTANT – Before choosing web hosting for pbn, you must ask them “Do they have different name servers for each IPs?” It is no benefit if you have different IPs but the same name server. There will be ‘footprints’ for Google to track from the name server if your blog network belongs to the same owner. You will get all deindexed!!
  2. IPs must be different at least in C classIMPORTANT - if you don’t understand what A/B/C class IP is, follow the link.
  3. Each ip is in different servers or different locationsPREFER – in setting private network, it will be best if you host different websites on different server or different location. This is because if all of your IPs whether it be class A/B/C but they are on the same server, Google will be able to see the relationship among them. So try to choose service provider that have many hosting on different locations around the world.
  4. Hosting that have IPs from different class A/BPREFER – Results of research and test from website show that high ranking website for high competitive keywords usually have backlinks from high portion of A/B class.
  1. Hosting that provides service on dedicated IPPREFER – Dedicated IP is an IP that belongs to you only. You are the only owner of that IP. No one can use it. In practice, it is safer, but the drawback is dedicated IP is more expensive.

In practice, there is no service provider that can service on dedicated IP in different location. So my advice is to choose either service provider with A/B class that provide servers in different location or service provider with dedicated IP in different A/B/C class.

A/B/C class explaination in term of SEO

Today I am very busy. But I can spare a little of my time to write this article. I want to write on a topic that many of you should already know about the IP for difference of class A/B/C. But it may be a little confusing for newbies. Usually IP addresses that we use today consist of 4 parts.

AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD

When we say IP with different C class, that means the IP addresses are different in part CCC and illustrated as AAA.BBB.CCC.xxx. For example, 23.223.12.16 and 23.223.23.23; these two IPs have different C class because 23.223.12.xx and 23.223.23.xx are different but the part A and B are the same which is 23.223.xx.xx

When we say IP with different B class, that means the IP addresses are different in part BBB and illustrated as AAA.BBB.xx.xxx. For example, 23.223.15.16 and 23.250.15.16; these two IPs have different B class because 23.223.xx.xx and 23.250.xx.xx are different but the part A is the same as it begins with 23.

Some are confused with the above example 23.223.15.16 and 23.250.15.16. Are these IPs different C class or not? Some may be mistaken as not because the position xxx.xxx.CCC.xxx is the same 15, which is wrong. When you look at IP, you must look at the whole set of number which is 23.223.15.xx is different from 23.250.15.xx is called different C class.

IPs with different A class is the most difficult to find. There are not many service providers that can provide a lot of class A IPs in the order of 100s. Different A class can be noticed at the first set of IPs. For example, 23.250.15.16 and 198.255.15.16 are of different A class, B class and C class with the rules I just explained.

So don’t be confused when buying hosting for private blog network. We want C class but the service provider have different B class (which is better). We are usually mistaken that we want C class, why sell me B class. In fact, different B class IPs will be different C class IPs by default. If you have different A class, then it will be of different B/C class. Is this clear? Comment below if you have any question.

SEO hosting exposed – Hosting to avoid

Hello again. I hope the previous articles will be useful in having you understand how to setup private blog network. The next step I want to discuss in this article is also very important. It is how to choose hosting that you will use for your private network. Which type is good?

Let me start from ‘not-to-do’ list or ‘blacklist’ for hosting that you should avoid as they will create so many footprints to the point that Google bot can track easily that they are all belonged to the same owner.

Normally, SEO hosting on the market such as seohosting, aseohosting, seowebhosting, and seohost will give you C class IPs. Even these IPs are at different C class, they are not quality IPs because of all of these IPs being in the same server and that will leave a big footprint for Google.

Want to see a clear picture? In this article I want to bring you to look at results of a little test

I have ordered SEO hosting from a service provider that provides C class IPs but on the same server. I got the following IPs:

  • 173.192.227.8
  • 173.192.205.251
  • 173.192.208.25
  • 173.192.224.36
  • 173.192.229.20
  • 173.192.206.4
  • 208.43.20.20
  • 208.43.23.180
  • 74.86.118.184
  • 74.86.234.216

The technique we test is called ‘trace route’ which can identify the location of the destination IPs by employing the web page network-tools.com

If you click these 10 links above, you will see that each and every IP will point one or two servers only.

traceroute1

traceroute2

Imagine that if you do backlinks from this private blog network that hosted on the same server, Google will be tracked those pbn easily. Even these links are from many different domains, but they are on the same server.

So you should avoid this type of SEO hosting if you want to rent one for your private network.

And what type of host that is good for private blog network. To be continue tomorrow.

Quality approach to find expired domain – Backlink profile

My previous article talks about how to find expired for private blog network. But that may not be enough for finding quality domain because the various indicator such as domain authority, number of backlinks are the indicator in quantity. It means that not every domain that has high DA will be a quality domain.

When I am at this point, some may wonder what will inherently tell the quality of a domain then. My answer is backlink profile and equipped with type and characteristics of websites in the past.

Let me explain briefly about the meaning of backlink profile. Backlink profile is a characteristic of backlinks that point to that domain. Backlink profile tells about what that link is about, whether a spam link or not. Are there links from different various domains? Or are they from the same domain? Are they distributed among several different servers?

For checking backlink for specific domain, I recommend ahrefs.com for detailed information. It has a service fee for using it though. There is free web service but give limited information. If you use very often, I think it is worth. The way it works is very simple. You simply put in the domain name you want to check. It will display any backlinks belong to that domain. Once you get the name, you can check the backlink list one by one. All in all, domain that I think should avoid for setting up my private blog network will have the following criteria.

  1. There are links from spam websites, porn websites, or illegal product websites.
  2. Link anchor uses too many keywords which means this domain may be used for private blog network before.
  3. There are clusters of links from very few domains. Or there are links from side-wide links (those from footer, blogroll)

May I end this article bluntly? In the future, I will take on some case study in finding domain for you.

Domain registration guide for private blog network

After previous article, there are some questions about how should we register for domain name. Today I will try to briefly write about this issue as time is limited. I will divide into two main topics.

  1. New domain, never registered before – in this case, we register new domain. Setting up blog networks with new domain may take time to rank because new domain doesn’t have backlinks and authority. We need to find backlinks to our blog networks constantly in the first 3-6 months. So Google bot will come visit our websites regularly. There are other questions that what about domain name? How to choose them?  I will tell you by example, if your product is about shoes and you don’t sell any other products, then include keyword ‘shoe’ in your domains. This will increase link relevancy. (link from a relevant domain.) But if you want to sell many products, you can register for any name.
  2. Expired domain – My last article talks about rough criteria in finding quality expired domains for your pbn. Registering for this type of domain, we don’t have to be concern of the names. As finding quality domain and related keyword altogether is very very difficult. Almost impossible. (but if you could, it is better) You should look for criteria such as DA,PA,CF,TF, and number of backlinks. Note that, you may find expired domain in broad topic such as if you are on cancer niche, you can find expired domain related to health which easier to find.

There are also questions about should we register with domain whois privacy option. Usually when we register for domain, whether with Godaddy namecheap, name.com, they will have an option for you to choose. You can choose to hide domain registrant information at this point. I would like to explain for newbies here (pro can skip this part). Usually when we register for domain, the information about domain owner such as owner name, address, and email can be looked up through ‘whois’ website. In setting up private blog network, we need to have each of our domain have different owners. So Google will look that backlinks from these web sites are from different owners. All in all, if you don’t have domain whois privacy, then you must register your domains on different owners. You may register using the same account and then change your domain contact information later.
